Claude Duet is a new Claude app that brings you what needs your attention, keeps working after you put your phone down, and checks with you before it acts for you.

Anthropic built it for professionals and small business owners with more on their plates than they can track. Each morning it sends a short brief, works on its own cloud computer while you’re away, and stops for your approval before it sends, pays, signs, or deletes. Access is waitlist-only for US Pro and Max subscribers.

Here’s what Claude Duet does, how it works, who can get in today, and how it compares with ChatGPT dots and Lindy.

What is Claude Duet?

Claude Duet is a personal AI agent you message, powered by Claude Opus 5.5, that handles your inbox, calendar, and follow-ups and messages you when something needs you.

You message it by text or voice in one ongoing thread. It works on its own cloud computer with a browser, so your laptop and phone don’t need to be on.

It carries over your Claude memory, skills, and connected apps, so setup takes little work.

Claude Duet has its own app on iOS and Android. On a computer, you open it at claude.ai. For now, it’s separate from the main Claude app.

Here’s the quick version:

Who can use Claude Duet, and how do you get it?

Claude Duet is available by waitlist to Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the US. As of October 29, Anthropic’s pages show no wider rollout.

Team and Enterprise plans aren’t included yet, and Anthropic hasn’t named a date or any other countries.

To get it, join the waitlist from Anthropic’s Claude Duet page. Anthropic says it will email you as soon as Claude Duet is ready for you.

Claude Duet has no separate price. It’s included in Pro ($20 a month) and Max, and it shares your plan’s usage limits with the rest of Claude.

Its background checks count toward those limits, and bigger jobs like a financial model or a deck take more model turns. Anthropic’s pages don’t give a number for how much. New Duet users do get one full limit reset, available until November 30, 2026.

How Claude Duet works

Claude Duet works by watching your connected apps, deciding what needs you, and asking before it acts.

What Claude Duet decides for you

Here’s what that looks like day to day:

  • Morning brief: Each morning, it sends a short brief on the most important items across your connected apps.
  • How often it checks: It checks your accounts every few hours, since constant checking would use up your plan’s limits much faster. You can tell it what you want to hear about and how often.
  • Tasks you hand off: Describe a job in a short message, from scheduling meetings to building dashboards, forecasts, prototypes, and web apps. It picks the apps and steps.
  • Connected tools: It can use more than 6,000 connectors and plugins from the Claude Marketplace, including Gmail, Slack, QuickBooks, Stripe, Gusto, HubSpot, Docusign, and Canva.

Where Claude Duet asks first

Claude Duet asks for your approval before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document, or deletes anything. It shows you the exact action first.

Here are the safeguards:

  • Off-limits actions: Trading securities and moving money between accounts stay blocked even if you approve.
  • Payments: Duet pays with a one-time virtual card through Link, Stripe’s digital wallet, so your real card number isn’t shared. You approve the spend in Link.
  • Sensitive details: A separate classifier checks each message before it goes out. It blocks credit card and government ID numbers. Duet sends health or finance details only when you’ve told it to.
  • Passwords: Duet never sees your passwords or sign-in tokens, according to Anthropic’s safety post.
  • Visibility: A task list shows what Duet has done and is doing, and you can steer it mid-task or disconnect any connected app.

What isn’t ready yet

Anthropic calls this an early version. Duet may misread a thread or miscalibrate what’s urgent, and it can miss something that arrives between check-ins.

Personal errands, like booking tickets, aren’t as strong as work tasks, and it can’t show you its browser yet.

Claude Duet vs ChatGPT dots and Grok Bot

The main difference between Claude Duet and ChatGPT dots is access.

ChatGPT dots are live now on ChatGPT Pro (from $100 a month) and Business Premium seats. Claude Duet is waitlist-only and included in Claude Pro and Max. Grok Bot comes with paid X Subscription plans and runs in its own desktop and mobile apps.

Claude Duet, dots, and Grok Bot are all always-on agents with their own cloud computers. Here’s how the three compare:

Product Maker How you get it Where you use it
Claude Duet Anthropic Waitlist; Pro and Max, US iOS, Android, claude.ai
ChatGPT dots OpenAI ChatGPT Pro or Business Premium ChatGPT, Slack, Teams
Grok Bot SpaceXSI X Subscription Premium, Super, and Ultra, plus some legacy Cursor plans Desktop and mobile apps

Dots also work in Slack and Microsoft Teams. Duet has its own app for now, and Anthropic says early feedback will shape how it and the main Claude app work together.

What to use while you wait for Claude Duet

Lindy is an AI teammate that lives in Slack, and you can start a free trial today with no waitlist. Mention Lindy in a channel and it answers with your team’s context. DM it and it becomes a personal assistant with your email, calendar, and private memory.

You can also set routines in plain English, like “every Monday at 9, send the pipeline brief.” Admins decide which actions run on their own, need approval, or stay off.

Paid Lindy plans start at $29.99 per user per month, and the product centers on teams and Slack. Duet centers on one person, with your Claude memory and Opus 5.5 behind it.

If you need something now, or a team needs to share it, try Lindy.

Should you join the Claude Duet waitlist?

Join the Claude Duet waitlist if you’re a US Pro or Max subscriber who spends mornings checking email, calendars, and invoices across several apps.

Hold off if you’re outside the US or on a Team or Enterprise plan, since Anthropic hasn’t opened those yet.

Pro users with tight limits should know Duet’s background checks count against the same allowance as chat. Expect some misses early on, too, since Anthropic is still tuning when it messages you.
